The digital transformation does not stop at harsh working environments. With the new Rockbook X540 G3 (14“) and Rockbook X550 G3 (15.6”), WEROCK is launching two AI-enabled fully rugged notebooks that uniquely combine performance, robustness, and security. Both models are based on our proven design, but have been significantly enhanced for noticeably better performance and a better user experience in the field.

Highlights of the new robust notebooks from WEROCK

  • Endurance: Thanks to the dual battery concept (56 Wh hot-swappable + 14 Wh permanently installed), the notebooks remain fully operational even when the battery is being replaced.
  • Future-proof AI power: Intel® Core™ Ultra processors (“Meteor Lake”) with integrated NPU and OpenVINO deliver up to 32 TOPS of local AI computing power. This allows large language and vision models to run directly on the device without cloud latency.
  • Numerous interfaces: In addition to Thunderbolt 4, 2 x Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI, serial RS232 interface, and 3 x USB-A ports, we include an additional M.2 NVMe slot as standard, as well as optional 4G or 5G modem – for maximum flexibility in edge applications.
  • Optimal outdoor readability: Non-reflective display with a brightness of 1000 nits, approximately five times brighter than an average office screen. Optional touch control
  • Sustainable footprint: WEROCK offsets all CO₂ emissions from production and logistics through Gold Standard projects – climate neutral ex works.

What is behind Intel® AI Boost & OpenVINO™?

The integrated NPU (Neural Processing Unit) in Intel® Core™ Ultra processors handles specialized AI tasks directly on the notebook – with low power consumption and no cloud dependency. This unit, referred to by Intel as AI Boost, enables high-performance inference workloads such as image recognition, speech processing, or anomaly detection in real time – even with complex models.

The appropriate OpenVINO™ toolchain facilitates the implementation of common AI models (e.g., from TensorFlow, PyTorch, ONNX) and optimizes them for Intel hardware. This allows even demanding AI applications to be executed on the device itself in a resource-efficient and latency-free manner—ideal for mobile and network-independent applications without the need for the cloud.

Evaluation takes place locally on the device in real time, without a cloud connection – ideal for limited network connectivity and high data protection requirements.
  • Utility companies – Early damage detection reduces maintenance costs and increases supply reliability Analysis of infrastructure damage via camera or drone. The notebook automatically detects cracks, corrosion, or foreign objects using AI.
