Efficient and ergonomic scanning in the frozen food sector: WEROCK combines the Rockscan W100 wearable barcode scanner with a new rechargeable battery and glove.
WEROCK Technologies GmbH, an innovative provider of industrial barcode scanners, handheld PDAs and rugged computers, introduces the “Battery+” as an extension of the Rockscan W100 wearable barcode scanner, which enables efficient, flexible and hands-free scanning in harsh and cold environments.
The manufacturer’s aim is to make scanning processes in industry and logistics faster and more efficient. The barcode scanner solution for deep-freeze areas combines the Rockscan W100 scanner with the new large battery “Battery+ ” and a fully-enclosing all-purpose glove. The solution is ideal for efficient work in cold temperatures, for example in deep-freeze warehouses or cold stores. The powerful battery promises a service life of up to 5,000 scans per battery charge, even at low temperatures down to -20°C.
The barcode scanner is equipped with a powerful scan engine that reliably captures all common 1D and 2D barcodes – even those that are difficult to read due to weather conditions such as ice and moisture. The Rockscan W100 is optionally available with three different scan engines, which have a scanning range of up to 14 meters depending on the application. The long range and the option of freehand scanning shortens walking distances, which can reduce the workload.
For use in demanding environments, the Rockscan W100 is robust and durable, can withstand drops from up to 1.5 m and is IP65 water and dust proof. The connection to the host is wireless via Bluetooth.
The back of hand scanner has a range of innovative functions that make it a powerful tool in the warehouse. These include:
- Increased productivity through accelerated barcode scanning – the scanner is always “at hand” and does not have to be picked up, picked up and put down again.
- Natural hand movements: Ergonomically optimized with accessories suitable for all hand sizes. No signs of fatigue or pain due to suboptimal hand positioning while working.
- Your hands remain free during the scanning process. This saves several seconds with each scan.
- The battery itself can be changed by the user without tools. This is advantageous for very large scan volumes and sustainable if the battery power is exhausted
- Various scan engines for high scanning ranges of up to 14 m. This ensures shorter walking distances and enables effortless scanning of goods even on high shelves.
